Cora Li-Leger is a visual artist living in South Surrey, BC since 1987. After earning a BFA from the University of Minnesota in 1975, she attended the Banff Centre School of Fine Arts (Alberta) under the tutelage of Joe Plaskett. There she met her husband Don and subsequently immigrated to Canada.
In the mid-1990’s, Cora completed graduate studies in art therapy, and had an active career as an expressive therapist with children, families and the elderly through 2015. Now retired from that profession, she enjoys time in her studio. Cora has participated in educational presentations, medical conference exhibitions, and artist book fairs, as well as gallery exhibitions in BC, Alberta, Washington, and the UK.
Cora and her late husband Don collaborated on several projects, including social practice and cultural development initiatives in the City of Surrey. For this work they have been recognized with Civic Treasure, City Beautification and Social Innovation awards.
